YES! MORE 7'' SINGLES ON THEIR WAY
The great big
ace thing that is the Wrath 'Super Sevens' singles club gears up for it's
next couple of releases in the nearly future. The next two chapters in
the greatest vinyl dynasty since collectable smurfs, are now in production
and should be with those of you who have subscribed to the scheme by the
end of September.
Inspired by the spirit of comradery that seems to be stretching between
the musical communities of UK cities, we have a Wakefield pop special
featuring the fantastic and epic slackerisms of PISKIE SITS coupled with
their good chums THE OLD HOUSE who contribute a slice of truly charming
wonkypop. The other release in the pair sees a 7" jammy-packed with
some of the eclectic talents of the burgeoning Sheffield underground scene.
On one side, the magnificent medieval chamber pop stylings of CHAMPION
KICKBOXER really send a chill down the spine, whilst the other side sees
superbly shambolic garage kids THE INTERIORS jostle for attention with
legendary twangy-guitar-spaghetti-western lunatics CHUCK as they both
contribute short sharp shocks of schlock-rock. Here's the full release
details:
WRATH30
Super Seven #9 - Wakefield Special!
A. Piskie Sits - 'Props'
AA. The Old House - 'Relationships Hooray'
WRATH31
Super Seven #10 - Sheffield Special!
A. Champion Kickboxer - 'Thinking'
AA1. The Interiors - 'She's In Japan'
AA2. Chuck - 'Kill 'Em All'
Having been astounded by the vigour in which the first two singles in
this series sold in the shops, we are also going to be selling these next
two in various quality independent retail outlets from the start of October.
More details on all this to follow, but you can pre-order the individual
singles from Oxfordmusic.net here:

Super Seven #10: http://www.oxfordmusic.net/product.php?id=601&cat=r
Of course the best way to guarantee that you'll get these (as well as
the other 4 sevens in the series) is to subscribe. You know the drill
by now, but in a nutshell subscription costs £18 (by mail order
or online) and this includes P+P, 6 x utterly marvellous 7" singles,
a CD compilation of the whole lot and whatever else we can think of to
chuck into the bargain. By post, you need to send a cheque payable to
'Wrath Records' to Wrath Records, the Cardigan Centre, 145-149 Cardigan
Road, Leeds LS6 1LJ - make sure your name, email & address are clearly
stated. To order online, go here:

Frankly, we really need the subscriptions in order to carry on this hair-brained
scheme. Please consider becoming part of it - go on, be yer best mate.
We've had a few interesting new bits of coverage for WRATH28 & WRATH29

In another turn of events, one of the series contrubutors, Bury St Edmunds
own THE SECRET HAIRDRESSER, won a Channel 4 competition recently and got
to play a gurt big gig alongside fashionable turns Art Brut. There is
a brief interview and clip of live action at the following URL - check
it one time as it is very amusing:
