BY FAIR MEANS OR FOWL....

The Six bowed to pressure recently and agreed to do a photo session for publicity purposes. But it was on one condition - that they be surrounded by birds of prey. To this end it was deemed appropriate to employ the services of a variety of Owls and Hawks from the Lightwater Valley Bird of Prey Centre near Ripon, N.Yorkshire. Many thanks go to Stuart and co. at the centre for handling the birds and getting them to look in the direction of the camera momentarily by dangling dead chicks from a coathanger behind the photographer's head. You can already see examples of this fine piece of work here on the Six's home site - www.thescaramangasix.co.uk - as the band posed with Harry, a European Eagle Owl and Flash, the red-tailed Hawk in a variety of poses. There was absolutely no bird cruelty involved though the usual cruelty to drummer Ant still continued.

The highlight of the day was the precision bombing of Eagle Owl poo directly onto the left foot of Chris Catalyst - a deeply unpleasantly but utterly hilarious episode. Well done Harry!
