The Scaramanga Six - New SIngle
The new single will be the old favourite HORRIBLE FACE. Old news to some,
but to the vast majority of people who haven't a clue who The Scaramanga
Six are then this will sound fresher than freshly picked daisies. This
time around the track is heavily augmented with a full string section
arranged by Mike Scott of Mezzo Studios. The strings are led by notable
Violinist Helen Greig backed by the Mysterious Heptonstall Youth Orchestra
- an organisation disbanded for many years only to come back for Six releases.
The other new thing about this release is that it is going all multi-format!
That's right - the single will be available on CD and 7'' Vinyl and to
get you to buy both, there are different b-sides on each. The extra tracks
are all violently brutal radio session versions recorded with the new
5-piece line up back in October 2004 for various radio stations.
The CD single features Horrible Face with 'Elemental' (session version
of Strike! Up the Band track and live favourite) and a brand new song
'The Throning Room' which is a taste of things to come from The mighty
Six.
The 7'' Vinyl version is a 33rpm treat with two more session tracks -
Smite My Face and You Do, You Die! - both intensely noisy.
There is also talk of a download release of Horrible Face on Karma Download
for those too lazy or unwilling to go into a public place to buy records.
Release date is tbc. but it's likely that it will be around mid-May 2005.
