GETTING TOO OLD FOR THIS KIND OF THING

I don't know. In my day you could go to your local newsagent in Worle, near Weston-super-Mare and rifle through a load of 7'' singles to buy 'Shut Up' by Madness and still have enough change of a quid to get two half-penny chews. These days you can't help but nearly run youths over who are too busy downloading their minds onto the latest new fangled MP3 player to notice such things as two-tonne cars made of jagged metal carreering at them as they wander aimlessly in the centre of the road.

That's right - Wrath Records celebrated it's third birthday the other week. It's a true sign that we are fast becoming the old gits of the music scene as new labels appear and disappear daily. It seems that if you stick around these days, you get tarred with the 'old hat' brush. But if you don't stick to your guns, someone just passes you off as a pointless fad. Well, we'd rather be known as ovaltine-drinking old windbags than ne'r-do-well fly-by-nights.

So that we could mark the fine occasion, we had a bit of a socail gathering at The Mixing Tin in Leeds on Friday 11th February. As it turned out there's life in the old dog yet as a multitude of friends and colleagues turned up to drink the bar dry.

So, were you at the party? Go to the gallery where you'll see some incriminating pictures of the whole sordid event. Here's to at least another three years of baffling and confounding disinterested journalists with our fuddy-duddy musical poppycock!
